Few areas offer more opportunities for young people to gain both income and work experience 
than these four counties.
Tourism and its related businesses account for much of that opportunity.
Baseball camps, hotels, restaurants, museums, sports parks, cavern tours, ski resorts... they all have one thing in common. For each of these businesses, the customers' enjoyment of the experience is the highest priority.
Positive "word-of-mouth" is the lifeblood of the tourism industry, and an inattentive or ill-mannered employee 
can be poisonous to the health of such a business.
To an only somewhat lesser degree, the same is true in the retail sector. Most successful tourism-related businesses carefully screen the pool of seasonal workers for "employability" skills such as appearance, communication style, and work ethic.
Because most seasonal workers do not typically have a long work history, the resume is not generally a determining factor, unless it is an indicator of issues in previous employment. However, seasonal employment can be a terrific resume builder.
It can provide you with the chance to succeed and excel individually and as part of a team. And it can be a stepping stone to future employment through contacts made and disciplines learned.
